The Ordinary to Extraordinary Curriculum includes everything I love in a great study: fascinating facts from history, inspiring examples from women, and life-changing wisdom from God's Word, presented in eight carefully designed lesson plans.

Want a front row seat into the lives of some remarkable women who transformed the world?

With every lesson you might hear, “Wow! What an amazing life! How could I ever do something like that?” These world changers share their not-so-secret secret to success: all of them honored God as the source of their accomplishments. Your students (and you) get a front row seat to see how it’s done, and to see God’s providence at work.

These seven women used the Bible as their guidebook. It was as relevant to their lives as it was to those living in biblical times and as it is to us today. Studying their actions and consequences provides insight into acquiring life skills needed to grow into thoughtful, caring, and responsible individuals. Skills such as:

  • Accepting challenges
  • Communicating effectively
  • Being independent / dependent
  • Thinking critically
  • Listening well to other viewpoints
  • Dealing with failure
  • Being perseverant / patient / kind / discerning / grateful

The beauty of this unit study is that you can choose how to incorporate it into your overall studies, either as the focal point or as an extra enrichment study for your history, writing or Bible lessons. Since there are so many subjects studied within this unit study, it can be self-paced to fit within your time frame, whether that is two to four months, or the entire school year.

What better way is there to bring history alive than to see real life heroes acted out in Mrs. Hubbell’s dramatic portrayal of seven women who changed the lives they touched? In her book, Eternity through the Rearview Mirror and her Women Warrior videos, you’ll get to meet these women and read their stories in such a way that makes their lives touch yours. Her workbook allows your students to learn vocabulary, study relevant scripture, and gain a better understanding of the time in which these women lived. A home school parent could use this series to supplement History, English, and Bible Lessons and it would be a perfect way to teach multiple grade levels at one time. I highly recommend this amazing collection!

Judging from our school history classes, we might think the most important world-changers are the powerful rulers who conquer empires and dominate masses. But the real world changers are those humble servants who work tirelessly behind the scenes to improve the lives of others. In this noteworthy collection, Annette Hubbell introduces us to seven such women who changed the world through their remarkable passion, grit, and determination. These studies will inspire and encourage you in powerful ways.
